Introduction

Minox is cloud accounting software for administrative offices, accountants and entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. It automates bookkeeping for businesses and the accounting firms that work with them.

Before they start, your end users need:
  • a Minox account, with the administration (accounting folder) they want to connect
To connect, they:
  • name the connection and choose whether to enable Analytic accounting
  • sign in with their Minox credentials and authorize access
  • select the accounting folder to connect

Rate limits

Minox rate-limits every endpoint. The limit per time window is not fixed: it varies with platform load. Each response returns the current limit, the remaining requests and the reset time. They come in the X-Rate-Limit-* headers. See Minox’s API reference. Chift automatically manages these limits to optimize performance and prevent interruptions. However, once the API rate limit is reached, Chift cannot bypass these limitations.

Limitations & specificities

Summary (aggregation) ledger accounts cannot be used in bookings or invoices. Use a detail ledger account.
The number of a journal entry or financial entry can only contain digits. Otherwise, the request is rejected.
Rules on the partner used in a journal:
  • A client cannot be used in a purchase journal.
  • A supplier cannot be used in a sales journal.
  • The partner must not be blocked for the journal it is used on.
Only journals of type bank or cash can be created.
Customer invoices must go to a sales journal, and supplier invoices to a purchase journal.Chift keeps only the digits of invoice_number and truncates it to the last 8 digits. For example, INV-2026-000123 becomes 26000123.
Each connection gives access to one Minox administration. Connect each administration separately.
