- Odoo 12 or later, on Odoo.sh or Odoo Online
- the Custom plan, the only one with API access
- an Odoo user with admin permissions to enable the connection
- on Odoo Online, a password set on the Odoo user, or an API key. Odoo Online users are created without a local password. To set one, go to Settings › Users & Companies › Users › Change Password.
- enter their Odoo URL, the exact major version their database runs, and the database name. If analytical accounting is on, the form also shows an Analytic accounting field.
- sign in with an Odoo username and password. If two-factor authentication is on, they use an API key instead, available on Odoo 14 and later. On Odoo 19, API keys expire after 3 months at most.
- if you let them, choose the companies to connect, one or several.
- if analytical accounting is on, choose a default analytic plan, on Odoo 16 and later.
Rate limits
Odoo Cloud’s acceptable use policy allows about 1 API call per second, with no parallel calls, on Odoo Online and shared Odoo.sh hosting. Odoo.sh dedicated hosting lifts this restriction.Limitations & specificities

On an entry line with a customer, supplier or employee, the account must be a receivable account for a customer and a payable account for a supplier or employee.

An employee must be linked to a contact in Odoo before Chift can use it in entries. Matching by employee needs the Odoo Employees app installed.A bank account and its partner form a unique pair in Odoo: Chift cannot create a duplicate of an existing one.

On Odoo 12, a PDF sent with an invoice is not attached, and no error is returned. Attachments need Odoo 13 or later.
