- a Lexware Office account on the XL plan, since Chift only supports the Public API and Lexware Office restricts it to that plan
- to generate a Public API key on the Public API page of their Lexware Office account, with full access or at least the permissions listed in the setup guide
- paste their Lexware Office API key into the connection form
Rate limits
Lexware Office limits each API client to 2 requests per second across all endpoints, using a token bucket. Lexware may change this limit at short notice. When the limit is exceeded, Lexware returns HTTP429 Too Many Requests. Chift automatically manages these limits to optimize performance and prevent interruptions. However, once the API rate limit is reached, Chift cannot bypass these limitations.
