# Payment

### Definition

A payment is a record of money collected from a customer through the payment provider. It includes the amount, currency, payment method, and status.

### Purpose

Payments represent the inflow of money. Each payment corresponds to a customer paying for a product or service.

### Relationships

* A payment is part of the transaction history.
* It can have one or more associated refunds.
