# Financial entries

### Definition

**Financial entries** are a simplified type of journal entry specifically designed for **bank and cash transactions**.\
They follow the same **double-entry bookkeeping principles** as standard journal entries but expose only the fields required for typical financial operations.

### Purpose

* **Simplify the recording of financial transactions** (bank transfers, cash payments) for users.
* **Automatically generates journal entries** behind the scenes.
* **Automate financial flow tracking** by linking transactions to the correct ledger accounts.

### Key features

* Minimal required fields compared to full journal entries
* Handles typical **bank and cash transaction patterns** automatically
* Updates corresponding **ledger accounts** without manual intervention

### Relationship
